Shopkeeper Patrick Ghati Gake was on Monday reported to have been shot dead by a gang of three at Ikerege market, Kuria West of Migori.
According to Kuria West OCPD Jacob Walukhu, the trader was ambushed at his gate at around 8pm.
“He was killed at the gate to his home. Nothing was taken from his home or shop. We suspect their mission was to kill and not to steal,” said Mr Walukhu.
Police have launched investigations into the murder.
