Through an innovative journey undertaken by the company engineers, the motive for the innovation was to come up with a sustainable solution for scaring away monkeys that often disrupt big power installations.

In 2016 there was a countrywide power outage that sparked uproar among Kenyans. Kplc explained that the power black out was caused by a monkey that tampered with generators at Kindaruma power station.

Since then, the company has been accusing monkeys of trying to tamper with their power installations.

Kplc hopes that the robot dogs will act as scare crows to the monkeys.
