Is Sacking Sarri the Only Remedy for Chelsea?

Maurizio  Sarri has once again found himself in hot soup as Chelsea manager after his team succumbed to a major loss on Monday night against Manchester United in the FA fifth round qualifiers.

Despite Manchester United not including two of their star players, Chelsea could not make it through to their post.

As the game stood, Sarri’s team seamed to be dominated by their visitors who aggressively attacked on every side.

This now is the third terrible defeat the Blues are suffering in a span of three weeks.

Sarri’s future at Stamford is growing even dimer as the rants by Chelsea fans displayed during their loss to United Monday night.

The reaction was considered as worst since the time of Rafa Benitez as interim coach six years ago. It actually raised questions about Sarri’s tenure in the job especially if the players would continue turn against him and his methods.

They sang, “you don’t know what you’re doing” at him and also “fuck Sarri-ball” a clear indication that the fans are protesting his methodical style of play.

Sadly enough, the Blues will on this Sunday face Manchester City in the League Cup final on Sunday, this puts the manager’s tenure at a crucial juncture.

Sarri’s vulnerability is even made worse by Roman Abramovich’s trend of sacking coaches in that manner-Andre Villas-Boas, Luiz Felipe Scolari and Roberto di Matteo.

On his part, the Blues coach insists that he is not worried to be sacked and his unpopularity. He reluctantly said that the start of his career in the Italian lower leagues was far more worrying.

“No. I was really very worried when I was in league two in Italy. Not now.”

Ultimately,  Sarri is admittedly aware that his future is out of his hands so he needs to focus on things he can control, such as coaching the team.

He has a game to play on Sunday against Manchester City and then the second leg of the Europa League tie with Malmo next week,
