They parents, Stephen Ondia, Grace Munuko, Emily Andisi, Grace Nanjala, and Francis Khisa, all pleaded guilty to charges citing their inability to pay school fees for their children.

“It’s due to poverty and lack of fees that I can’t take my child to school. There is no joy for me to stay with my daughter at home when she is supposed to be in school your honour,” said one of the parents.

The operation has been made easier after the sector decided to use the NEMIS system to capture the names and letters of all form one students required to report to school.
