Visiting Jamaican reggae legend Richell Bonner, popularly known as Richie Spice has urged other Kenyan legislators to support Kibra MP Ken Okoth’s campaign to legalize marijuana.

Richie Spice is set to rock his fans on Saturday at the ‘Nobody Can Stop Reggae’ concert at Kenyatta International Convention Center (KICC), said he was excited to learn that efforts are being made to have marijuana legalized in Kenya as it is in Jamaica.

Prior to his show, Richie Spice moved around in different radio and TV station to popularise his visit.

During one of his interviews with Mbusi and Lion, , the musician pleaded with Kenyans legislatures to pass the marijuana legalisation bill table in parliament by Kibera MP Ken Okoth. Speaking in an interview Spice claimed he is excited Ken Okoth is making efforts to have marijuana legalised in Kenya.

Spice urged other MPs to join Ken and support the marijuana bill as it will benefit the country big time.
“I just learnt that a minister here wants use of marijuana legalised, others should help him. I’m feel thrived for real to know that our people will be employed, you know there will be more jobs, we will get more medicine. These are very uplifting vibes for real, they give joy,” he said. Spice held that he would love to see Kenya emulate Jamaica where marijuana use is legal but regulated.
“In Jamaica you only allowed to carry 60 grams per person and the policeman won’t arrest you. Found with more than that, you get locked up. It’s legalized but regulated and that’s what we want here in Kenya,” he added.
It should be noted in 2018, Kibera MP Ken Okoth wrote to the National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi to facilitate him in preparing the Marijuana Control Bill, which seeks to legalise the cultivation and use of the marijuana in the country.
