Koffi Olomide risks 7year jail term in France

A case facing Antoine Christophe Agbepa Mumba popularly known as Koffi Olomide has started in France.

Olomide, 62, is facing prosecution in France for allegedly sexually assaulting 4 former dancers at a villa situated in Asnieres-sur-Seine, Paris.

Reports show that the four dancers were detained by three men from 2002 to 2006 at the villa during the tour of France by the Soukos maestro.

They were allegedly forced to have sex with Olomide and physically assaulted if they resisted. They managed to escape the villa in June 2006.

The four dancers said to be of Congolese origin, have also not left France for the Central African country out of fear.

The case was reportedly heard behind closed doors at a court in Nanterre on February 11.

This is not the first time the singer is facing charges for abusing his dancers.

Olomide was unceremoniously deported in 2016 from Kenya after a video emerged showing him assaulting one of his female dancers at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

He was dramatically arrested as he left Citizen Tv.

Prior to that, Olomide was handed a three-month suspended prison sentence in 2012 for assaulting his former producer Diego Lubaki over a Sh339,000 (€3,000) debt.

2012 also saw Zambian authorities issue an arrest warrant against Olomide over claims he kicked photo-journalist Jean Mandela during his concert in Lusaka.

In 2008, Congo’s National Assembly Speaker was forced to mediate between Olomide and RTGA Tv after the singer kicked the station’s cameraman and damaged his camera during a concert in Kinshasa.
