Deputy President William Ruto is one of the many politicians facing any corruption allegations.
It therefore comes as a surprise to many after he goes on to announce his evangelical plans after politics .
DP Ruto was speaking in Trans Nzoia county on Friday, February, Pentecostal Evangelical Fellowship of Africa (PEFA) Bishop Samuel Thiong’o’s celebration of 50 years of service, Ruto said he would take to the pulpit not to woe voters but win souls when he quits politics.
The DP who is not ashamed of his faith is known for actively getting involved in church activities, specifically raising funds for building sanctuaries, a trend that has exposed to scorn from his detractors.
“I will spend the rest of my life evangelising when I quit active politics. I don’t think there is a justifiable reason for any leader to overstay in power,” Ruto said.
Ruto has on several occasions testified how he was brought up in a strong Christian setup right from Sunday school which helped him grow up to be a Christian Union leader in high school and university.
