Nairobi armed thug posing as garbage collector arrested following social media photos

Kenyans on the morning of Friday, February 15, were taken aback after a photo of a garbage an armed collector resurfaced online. The man who has since been identified as Alex Maina is a dangerous criminal terrosing Nairobi residents according to findings by the police officers.

Further details indicate Maina and his colleague James Kirucha often pose as garbage collectors in target areas particularly Mukuru Pipeline before executing their missions. The police undercover detective Hesy wa Dandora confirmed they managed to arrest the duo following public condemnation.

“This is Alex Maina together with his crime partner James Kirucha and both of them are garbage collectors at Mukuru Pipeline. Too lucky to have been arrested otherwise, saa mngekuwa kwa headlines (right now you would be dead) this is their habit, terrorising innocent people from the same area with a toy pistol,” posted Hesy.

They are being detained and will be charged with being in possession of illegal firearms contrary to the constitution. In the photo, Maina was captured with a pistol tucked around his back waist eliciting public reactions on Friday, February 15. Whereas others decried insecurity as a major concern in the city, a section of Kenyans suspected Maina was a detective posing as garbage collector. However, it has been confirmed he is neither an intelligence officer nor a cop. During the arrest, police recovered one pistol and three knives.
