A 55-year old Doctor in Nairobi has been charged with defiling a mentally challenged girl.
The doctor identified as as Andrew Njeru is said to have taken advantage of the 14-year-old girl on February 3.
Njeru is also facing charges of committing an indecent act with the minor contrary to the laws of Kenya.
According to a police statement, the girl was receiving treatment at Njeru’s Clinic in Mwiki which is near her home.
According to the Prosecution, on the fateful day, the accused convinced the girl who was cleaning her shoes to accompany him to his clinic.
However, the girl refused forcing him to drag the her to his house before committing the act on her.
After the incident Njeru is said to have warned the girl not to share with anyone what had transpired.
The doctor later gave the minor sh 50 to seal what had happened. However, the girl revealed the secret to her mum who later shared the incident with the police.
Njeru denied all charges leveled against him and was released on a Ksh300,000 bail. The matter is set to be mentioned on February 26.
