Wenger makes a “blasphemous” comparison of Tottenham to Man Utd

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has made a startling revelation comparing the current Tottenham Hotspur side to that of Manchester United’s ‘Class of 92’.

Tottenham Hotspur have had an impressive season as they still in the title race, sitting third and five points behind log leaders Manchester City. Mauricio Pochettino’s men also have a strong chance of proceeding to the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League after beating Borussia Dortmund 3-0 in the first leg at Wembley Stadium.

Speaking as a guest in BeIN Sports, Wenger compared Spurs to United’s ‘class of 92’, “I am an Arsenal fan so it is a bit of a sensitive subject for me but what I want to say is that they have the generations of young players. They look like the Manchester United generation of [Ryan] Giggs, Paul [Scholes], [Nicky] Butt, [David] Beckham, [Gary] Neville and [Phil] Neville. They made it to the complete top.

“You feel there is something there at Tottenham but they have not shown the maturity in the decisive moments to get there. That is the target now to come to maturity in the next two to three years and show that.”
