Two more arrested over activist Caroline Mwatha’s death

 

Two more suspects who have been linked to the murder of activist Caroline Mwatha have been detained by the police.

The suspects by the name Mr Martin Mwangi and Mr Godfrey Otieno got arrested on Wednesday at Dandora bringing into total eight suspects in custody over the murder .

They were therefore detained at Buruburu Police Station overnight.

Martin Mwangi Waithaka and Godfrey Otieno Ooko are believed to be the drivers of a vehicle that was said to have been used to ferry the deceased to the City mortuary.

Police will conduct an identification parade of the eight people linked to the murder Mwatha as part of the investigation.

Detectives said the suspects’ phone data as well as the clothes the slain activists wore when she was murdered on February 6 will be subjected to forensic analysis.

In a sworn affidavit, Buru-buru DCIO Chief Joseph Wanjohi asked the court for more time to allow his team of investigators to analyze suspect’s mobile phone data used during the time of incident.

The six suspects arraigned earlier are Michae Onchiri, Betty Akinyi Nyanya, Richard Ramoya Abudo, Alexandra GItau Gikonyo, Stephen Maina and Georgia Achieng Tabitha.
