The race for the top most job has taken a new twist after Gatundu south MP Moses kuria declared his interest in the coming 2022 elections.
The MP made the remarks during an interview on Hot 96 breakfast show with the host, Jeff Koinange.
Kuria expressed hope that he will triumph over Deputy President William Ruto but promised to give him a job in his government once he becomes the president.
“Believe you me; I will be on the ballot box on 2022. There is nothing that prevents me from doing it” he told a surprised Jeff adding that “apart from Uhuru and Raila, I am currently the third most famous person in Kenya”.
When Jeff asked him to clarify what he meant, Kuria argued that the recent event where he was accorded high level security in Kisumu when he accompanied Uhuru and Raila speaks a lot.
“Did you see the kind of security I had in Kisumu? This means I am a respected fellow” he said.
However as it’s a common for people start associating with the ‘winning ‘ team, as MP Kuria calls his team.
Statehouse head of Digital and Diaspora Communication in the Office of the President Dennis Itumbi, has not been left behind to associate himself with the MP even though it appeared he was mocking the MP’s ambitions.

Through a statement on Twitter, Itumbi tried to show how good he knew Kuria long before he ventured into politics.
He disclosed that they worked together before asking him for Chief of Stuff position should the legislator become the President.
“Moses Kuria has been a communication guy, longer than he has been a politician. Glad to have known him and worked with him too. Great guy. Just one question, if he becomes President will he appoint me his Chief Of Staff?” Itumbi posted.
