Coleen Rooney has been spotted without her wedding ring, a day after it was claimed she’d ordered Wayne to quit boozing to save their life
The mother of four, Coleen is said to have read Wayne the riot act after he was seen partying into the small hours with a blonde barmaid over Superball weekend.
In the run-up to Valentine’s Day, Coleen was spotted clutching four red balloons, thought to be for each of her sons, but was noticeably without her wedding band. Wayne was said to have remained in the car during her supermarket jaunt.
According to a source, Coleen has asked Wayne to go to rehab for a second time and seek treatment for his drinking after being ‘humiliated’ by his behaviour.
The insider told media : “Wayne has been here before. In 2016 after England’s humiliating Euros exit to Iceland, he sought help from a professional counsellor for regular sessions to help him overcome his problems.
“He boozes because of ongoing issues he’s been dealing with his whole adult life.
“And Coleen feels Wayne needs to receive more treatment to prevent the threat of complete self-destruction — and salvage their marriage.”
The paper also reports Coleen’s mum has jetted out to Washington to support her following the latest scandal.
Shortly before Christmas Wayne was arrested for public intoxicating at a Washington airport.
Then in 2017 Wayne nearly broke his marriage up for good when he was caught drink-driving the car of a woman he picked up in a club.
He and Laura Simpson had spent the evening together drinking and chatting before leaving in her Beetle.
But Wayne was caught behind the wheel of her car almost three times over the limit and was handed a two-year driving ban, 120 hours of community work and £300,000 in fines from Everton FC.
Coleen, who at the time was pregnant with their son Cass, eventually forgive her errant husband, but admitted in an emotional public statement that they’d spent time apart.
