Revealed! Chelsea lines up Zindane for new Manager

Maurizio Sarri is fighting for his job at Stamford Bridge following Sunday’s humiliation at Manchester City. Chelsea are reportedly lining up Zinedine Zidane to be their new manager. The 46-year-old is currently not in management and is understood to be very keen on a job in the Premier League. Sarri has taken Chelsea to a Carabao Cup final against Manchester City later this month but the Blues hierarchy are more interested in Champions League qualification.

Current manager Maurizio Sarri is running out of backers after the 6-0 drubbing at the hands of Manchester City as the Blues dropped to sixth in the Premier League. The Italian looks set to be given a stay of execution by Chelsea chiefs with a crunch fortnight that sees them in action in four competitions, including a Carabao Cup final against City.

There is growing support amongst the top brass for Zidane and talks have advanced this week over when they should make their move. Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard  linked with a move away from the club with his contract up in 2020  idolises Zidane. A move for the legendary French player, who won the World Cup with Les Bleus, would be encouragement for Hazard to sign a new deal.

Sarri was unbeaten in his first 12 games in charge at Stamford Bridge, having succeeded sacked Antonio Conte last summer. However, the writing appears to be on the wall for Sarri, with the Blues reportedly ready to turn to Zidane in a bid to return them to the top table.

The Sun claim Chelsea are ready to move for Zidane, who has been out of work since quitting Real Madrid last summer. Sarri’s future has been plunged into further doubt following the drubbing at the Etihad and the under-fire manager admits his fate is out of his hands.
