Family who lost son in hyena attack seek compensation

A Laikipia family who lost their son after a hyena attack last week is demanding compensation from the government.

The deceased son, David Ndungu (11), was mauled to death with doctors claiming that what was left of him was only 30 percent of his body.

The couple on the other hand were admitted at the Nyahururu County and Referral Hospital where their injuries were being nursed.

The husband, Mzee Benard Ngure (71) sustained injuries on both his arms and leg while his wife, Magrete Wambui (54) was injured on both her arms, her left thigh, head and face.

The family were attacked by hyenas on Monday morning last week after they woke up at around 5:00 a.m to prepare their children for school.
