Mike Sonko Pours Cold Water On Workers’ Strike

Nairobi city County governor Mike Sonko has assured workers that their salary increment as per the collective Bargain Agreement (CBA) of 2017 will be increased immediately.

Earlier in the day workers downed their tools demanding the implementation of a 15% pay rise that was part of the 2017 Collective Bargain Agreement which they has been delayed since the county agreed to effect the increment by January this year.

While speaking to the media today, Sonko affirmed that his administration will work with the relevant authorities to remedy all the workers concerns.

He further revealed that the relevant authorities will be meeting in Mombasa and he will ensure that the stakeholders discuss the salary increment issue as workers sought Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) which the industrial court through judge Nelson Abodha gave green light in November last year.
