“Kalonzo is not dead politically,” his watermelon ally draws a line of defense

Makueni MP Daniel Maanzo has told off Kamba politicians rebelling against Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

Maanzo said the former Vice President’s political ‘shoes’ are too big for any Kamba politician to fit in.

Addressing the press in Makueni town on Monday, the MP said Kalonzo remains the only ‘ordained’ Kamba leader.

He said those attacking and criticizing Kalonzo are envious of his political status.

“These people making a lot of noise cannot even fit in Kalonzo’s political shoes given a chance,” Maanzo said.

Maanzo claimed that Kalonzo’s critics use his name to gain political mileage ahead of 2022 polls.

He asked Kambas to be wary of politicians who misuse them to push for their own selfish agenda.

A section of Kamba politicians has been piling pressure on Kalonzo to quit active politics.

They want the former Vice President to hand over leadership to young leaders.

Kalonzo, however, insists that he is not quitting politics.

The Wiper leader has maintained that his ambition is to ascend to power in 2022.

He says he has what it takes to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022 polls.
