DP Ruto Directs International Media to Google After It Crosses the Line

William Ruto, a man who is loved and hated politically in equal measure is a man not new to controversy.

For sometime now, the Deputy President has been subjected to great scrutiny by the Public and a section of politicians with many arguing that most of his wealth are courtesy of Corruption and embezzlement of Public Funds.

Ruto’s “Chief Priest of Corruption” tag keeps haunting me time in, time out with political pundits now arguing that it could go along way in denting his Presidential hopes come 2022.

The Question surrounding his worth and source of wealth caught up with him again but this time in an international media house but Ruto being Ruto found a way to avoid everything and ultimately put the journalist in his place.

In a wide-ranging conversation with BBC’s Stephen Sackur, who hosts the HARDtalk show, Mr Ruto declined to reveal his exact worth despite being pressed to do so.

Ruto instead did everything possible to avoid the topic around his wealth.

The DP claimed that he is the only Kenyan Politician who has undergone a lifestyle audit and that his exact worth is therefore out there in the public for everyone to see.

“The audit was done by the media. It is in public domain. In fact, what has happened is that there is … at the moment, we are all working on getting a legal framework where a lifestyle audit can be conducted on every public servant, starting from the President,” said Ruto.

Ruto asked Journalist Sackur to conduct intensive research before engaging him in a interview about his worth. since everything is in the public Domain.

He even asked Sackur to consult Google so as to find out what he (Ruto) actually owns.

“It is in public domain. I encourage you to google and find out what William Ruto owns,” Said Ruto.
