Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu is the only Kenyan Leader who has joined a 38 member delegation that will be part of a high powered international election observer in Nigeria. The High powered delegation will be lead by retired president of Botswana Festus Mogae slated for Saturday.
The delegation will serve under the American based National Democratic Institute (NDI) and the International Republican Institute (IRI). She will be the only Kenyan politician to take part in this mission.
She was selected for the reason that she is the senior-most female political leader in the country, having served in various elective capacities. Having been a Member of Parliament for Kitui Central Constituency for four consecutive terms and as Cabinet Secretary in the national government from 2002 to 2015, Governor Charity Ngilu has been in the public service for more than 27 years.
