Two of the most famous left-footed players on the planet, the pair faced off in a challenge of trick shots in a bid for the right to the last can of Pepsi Max in the ad named ‘Last Can Standing’
They up at a petrol station and head straight for the fridge – where there is just one can of Pepsi left.
And to decide who gets it they compete in a series of challenges including striking balls at stop signs and through tyres.
Salah then goes for the can before Messi hits him with the ball and they start all over again – only to hear the snap of the can come from somewhere else.
“I’m very happy to see the partnership with Pepsi turn global, and I’m excited for what lies ahead,” Liverpool star Salah said.

The ad will be released in the build-up of this year’s Champions League final which will be held at Atletico Madrid’s Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.
It launches Pepsi’s football campaign for 2019, PEPSI, #FORTHELOVEOFIT, which will be seen in 65 countries and aims to encourage people to express their passion for football.
“It was a lot of fun to film this year’s commercial with Pepsi,” Messi said.
“It’s a concept with fun and football skills at the heart of it.”
Messi and Salah will have their sights set on a place in June’s final with their campaigns in Europe’s top competition getting back underway next week
Barcelona and Messi face Lyon in the last 16, with the first leg taking place in France on February 19.

Liverpool will be looking to reach the competition’s showpiece for a second year running having lost to Real Madrid in the final in Kiev last year.
Their task could not be tougher, with Bayern Munich standing in the way of a place in the last eight.
Messi is a four-time winner of the competition but Barca have not won it since they beat Juventus 3-1 in the 2015 final.
Both players will be key for their respective sides’ chances of success.
After Salah scored a record 32 goals in the Premier League last season, he the joint-top scorer – with Sergio Aguero – again this term with 17 strikes to his name.
Meanwhile, with 21 goals to his name, Argentine superstar Messi is La Liga’s runaway leading scorer.
