Manchester United fans send Ole Gunnar Solskjaer selection demand for PSG clash in Champions League

Manchester United fans have identified their choice to start in central defence against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday extremely clear.

United  host the injury-hit French champions in their Champions League last-16 first leg tie, looking to extend their 11-match unbeaten run under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The latest win came against Fulham, where defender Victor Lindelof  was left out as a precaution ahead of the PSG game this week.

Chris Smalling and Phil Jones lined up at Craven Cottage, but United fans do not want to see the same partnership link up for the Champions League.

Assuming Lindelof returns, MEN Sport asked United fans who they would like to see partner the Swedish international on Tuesday.

Of 3,399 fans who voted in our poll, an overwhelming 79% chose Eric Bailly.

Just 11% picked Jones, and 10% wanted to see Smalling face an attack that will consist of Kylian Mbappe and Angel Di Maria.

Bailly featured as a late substitute against Fulham, meaning he will be fresh for the first leg this week, as Solskjaer also rotated his squad to leave out the likes of Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard and Ashley Young.

Bailly has only started three games under Solskjaer – with one coming in the FA Cup – partly due to a three match suspension following his red card in the win over Bournemouth.

His only Champions League appearances this season came in both games with Valencia.
