Anthony Martial Helps Ole Gunnar As French Translation Fails

Anthony Martial has excelled at Manchester United with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in charge.

The France international has scored 11 goals this season – including two from his last three games.

He is set to play against PSG in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

And Martial was on hand to help his manager out at today’s pre-match press conference.

Solskjaer was speaking in English to the media when a French journalist suddenly asked a question in French.

Solskjaer looked confused but Martial learned forward to listen to the question.

He smiled and then translated what was being asked to Solskjaer.

Manchester United had employed a translator for the press conference, which is usual ahead of European games.

But Martial seemed more than at ease translating for his Norwegian manager.

Speaking about playing under Solskjaer, Martial said: “We have a coach with different approach and we’re trying to do what he’s asking us to do, perhaps it’s easier for us to play this style of football.”

Solskjaer himself discussed Tuesday’s first leg of the last-16 clash.

“I think it is difficult to compare games, because when they play in the league, they know they’re going to win the league anyway, so they maybe approach games differently to the Champions League,” he said.

“It’s always nice to see players live because you get a different impression.

“You see space, different things, different patterns.

“You saw how lightening quick Mbappe was!

“You just go and watch any opponent, but it’s difficult to say.”
