a promise is a debt, Sakaja fulfills his promise

Emmanuel Omala, is one f the survivors of Dussit attack which left 21 dead and others injured. He has been in hospital since then unable to clear his bills.DP Ruto had visited survivors of the attack at Kenyatta National Hospital and promised that the government will offset all their medical bill a promise which was never fulfilled.

Emmanuel was among the first survivors to be rescued at the scene of the attack on January 15. He was rushed to KNH where he was hospitalized. He narrates, ”Nilipigwa risasi mingi, zingine kwa mgongo, zingine kwa kiuno, ingine kwa mguu. Nilikuwa nimelala hapo chini kitu twenty minutes ndio nikaona hao maaskari wakikuja wakiwa wamechanganyikana na wazungu ndio wakauliza is there anyone who is alive tumsaidie, ndio mimi nikajikokota pole pole nikainua mikono ndio wakanishika wakanitoa nje.”

He was taken to KNH where he underwent surgery and was treated.”Nilikaa kitu two days kama sijakosea ndio Deputy President akakuja akasema serikali itatushughulikia halafu the next day madam Cicily Kariuki CS wa health na madam Amina Mohamed wakakuja pia wakasema watatushughulikia.”

The 21-year-old delivery man was left with a Sh100, 000 medical bill after treatment. The hospital has said the government has not paid the bill of the victims because the attack was not declared a national disaster.
Omalla said he paid a deposit of Sh15, 000, then signed a deal to clear the remaining Sh85, 000 over a period of two years and four months. He will be paying Sh3,000 monthly installments.

After Omalla’s story was aired, Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja called in to say that he would be clearing the Sh85, 000 at KHN first thing Monday morning.The Senator has cleared Omala’s outstanding bill at the Kenyatta National Hospital and visited the survivor at his home.

Conveying the good news, Senator Sakaja asked his followers to pray for a full recovery for the survivor.Emmanuel Omala is such an amazing soul & represents the spirit of the Kenyan people. Glad to have visited him earlier on today and cleared his bill at KNH. He is recuperating well and realizes that after surviving 7 bullets, God has a great plan for him. Keep him in your prayers.”

A promise well fulfilled.
