Klopp Drops Joe Gomez Bombshell & Gives Fans Disappointing Timeframe For His Return

Joe Gomez could be absent until almost April if Jurgen Klopp’s latest estimation is true…

The boss was speaking ahead of the Bournemouth clash tomorrow and suggested that despite the Englishman’s surgery going well, a ‘four to six week’ absence from the first-team will be the best outcome.

“Joe’s surgery, yes worked pretty well, and the timeframe is always difficult,” he explained during the Melwood press-conference.

“But four to six weeks [for his] return to play, hopefully that’s the case, we work on that.”

Gomez picked up his injury after 23 minutes of the clash with Burnley on December 5th, and he’s been absent since.

In total, the 21-year-old has missed 12 games, with four more in February that he’s guaranteed to not play.

We have five more matches in March – and we just hope Gomez will be able to return at some point this month.

Before his injury, he’d been genuinely just as impressive for us as Virgil van Dijk.

The Dutchman has rightly received huge credit this term, but Gomez’s early season form was jaw-dropping.

All we can do now is wish him well in his recovery and hope to see him as soon as possible.
