Juja town is home to one of the most monumental universities in Kenya.
Indeed, one cannot converse about the realms of higher education in this country sans mentioning the prestigious Jomo Kenyatta University of Technology.
Once humorously known as ‘Juja Boys’, the university has made leaps and bounds in balancing its gender ratio, thus emulating some of the top universities around the world.
Education-wise, JKUAT is the quintessential engineering and business institution!
In terms of security, however, that’s a whole other story…
Unfortunately, we have lost yet another lovely dame to the miscellaneous gangs that traverse the neighbourhood surrounding the institution.

Young JKUAT student was stabbed to death on the 7th, Feb at Seagull.
Why has the killing of our students become a norm? It is very heartbreaking for a parent waiting for a degree to receive a lifeless body.
This should stop!@NYC_YouthVoice@mo_psyga pic.twitter.com/iSNt5jaush— Roy Sasaka Telewa (@RoySasaka) February 8, 2019
The dame in question is reported to have been walking with her friends along Seagull hotel towards their living quarters when they were confronted by those rogue ‘members’ of society.
The thugs then barked at them to hand over all their belongings.
6:54 Khaai! Another life has been claimed? Even terrorism is not out biggest threat at this rat. Rest in Power mamii. ???#stopkillingJkuatStudents #MaishaConcertFriday #WageBillFromHell #Tonight #ItsTimeWeStopped @KenyanTraffic pic.twitter.com/mr3srBGAho

You can just imagine the fear of coming face to face with the devil disguised as a bunch of stone-cold mongrels. Eyes bloodshot from indulging in the most potent substances on the planet.
All her friends cooperated.
And perhaps being nurtured with a fierce and confident spirit, our beloved dame refused to do the same.
Unfortunately, fate would not be on her side. She was stabbed violently in the neck.
She succumbed to her wound while being rushed to JKUAT hospital.

What does it gain to kill the brains that will change this country tomorrow. it is sinful and totally absurd. What does it gain to destroy tomorrow. It’s harm that’s happening to us.stopkillinguniversitystudents pic.twitter.com/Jg1EY4O1gH— samuel otieno (@sotienooso) February 8, 2019
The mood is indeed, sombre as students come to terms with yet another one of their comrades dying by the knife, yet not living by it!
