Uhuru devises new means of taming governors money minting spree

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday addressed the Council of Governors at KICC Nairobi since they appointed their new representatives.

President Uhuru Kenyatta who is keenly interested with the development agenda, devised a new way to ensure that the public revenue is not wasted.

President Kenyatta directed CRA, Council of Governors, KRA, and Treasury to form a multi-agency team to devise a single revenue collection system to reduce duplication of efforts and wastage of resources.

This new move by the President is aimed at ensuring effectiveness and efficiency of the counties in providing services the people.

This comes as most county officials in previous times being accused of minting public money through other side shows which are not aimed at boosting the economical development of their counties.

This collective revenue collection is also aimed at ensuring that the counties are fairly be allocated with development money from treasury.

Council Of Governors led by Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya have in previous times accused the Treasury of delaying in reimbursement of the money to the counties. Governor Oparanya promised to work hand in hand with the other governors to find a lasting solution to this problem.

But with the President new directive money wastage is tamed.
