Jobs scare as KPA advertises for managerial vacancies days after scam threat

Panic has rocked the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) top officials after there positions were advertised on Thursday dailies.

KPA managing director Daniel Manduku however clarified that the incumbent in the advertised positions were only serving in an acting capacity and are eligible to apply.

“There is no cause for alarm, we are just following…the Muthara circular of 2005 which is in line with the government regulations that all management positions must be competitively sourced from the market when they fall vacant,” said Dr. Manduku.

The overhaul may see a number of staff moved in a bid to rid the facility of lethargy and cronyism inherited from the past managements.

KPA has advertised for 54 slots in operations, engineering, finance, board and legal services, corporate services, infrastructure development, human resources and security division.

KPA has also warned the public against fraudsters who circulated a fake job advert on social media purporting that there are more than 140 vacancies in the organisation.
