A fire broke out on Wednesday night at Gikomba Market.
Nairobi firefighters arrived on time and contained it before it spread to other parts of the market.
Unlike previous times the efforts were spirited and well coordinated that allowed them to contain the fire. Much success in extinguishing the fire is capitalized on the fact that the market was opened with various lee-ways allowing for easy movement of the in case of an emergency.
No injuries have been reported.
The the amount of damage has been reported but it is not as bad as the last time fire broke up in the market and burnt almost half of it.
Although the case of the frequent fires have not been established but some people have linked it to cartels. Though this is not confirmed or in any way corroborated by the authorities.
On Tuesday night, another fire razed down Sodom area in Kangemi.
