Deputy president Dr. William Ruto is a man receiving political punches not only from rival parties, but also his own Jubilee Party. Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho and former Jubilee party vice chair David Murathe have been leading on these attacks.

The two have vowed to stop Ruto from ascending to the presidency come 2022.

Joho escalated the feud between him and the deputy president Dr. William Ruto by accusing him of sending proxies to attack him and mudslide his name. He also blamed Ruto for sponsoring allegations against drug trafficking through his subjects.

While accompanying Irshad Sumra as he submitted his nomination papers to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission on Monday, Joho dared Ruto to face him one on one instead of sending the proxies to taint his reputation.

“I cannot engage in a war of words with those people because I know they have been sent by their master William Ruto”, Joho Said. “I dare you Ruto. Stop sending your sidekicks, come out and face me yourself.”

On the other hand, former Jubilee party vice Chair David Murathe on Tuesday escalated his tussle with Ruto by stating that he will fight him even if he moves from Jubilee.

“Me and like minded will be campaigning against that ticket of William, whether in Jubilee or not,” Murathe said on Tuesday during a Citizen TV interview.

When asked what personal problems he had with the deputy president, he answered, “I have outlined several; it started with the Jubilee party nominations… the first day, they started by creating some commotion in several parts of the country and we had to recall the results. The first day of the party nominations flopped.”

“When we repeated the fresh nominations, all hell broke loose because interested parties rigged out highly popular people particularly in Mount Kenya and Rift Valley regions. They were able to manipulate the nomination results,” Murathe added.

“I have a problem with his models of planning. I haven’t had an opportunity to sit him down and tell him if he continues down that road, he is on his own so I have had to come out publicly,” he added.
