Supreme Court has dismissed an appeal challenging election of Changamwe Constituency Member of Parliament Omar Mwinyi. Through a ruling made on Wednesday morning, judges told petitioner Mohamed Daib that the will of people prevailed during the election.

The Court also upheld the election of Lamu Governor Fahim Twaha, ruling that the case against him lacked merit. Twaha had been petitioned by former Lamu Governor Issa Timmamy who had moved the case to Supreme Court after the Court of appeal upheld Twaha’s election.
