Kenyans on social media are one interesting lot. They will keep you hooked on your phone even when you should really be on other businesses. They keep you entertained each passing day and having weird moments either in public or alone. Ever found yourself laughing out loud especially when you sneaked your phone into that boardroom meeting that you wanted to evade, but twitter came to your rescue? Or tweets got you glued on your phone in the matatu as you were on your way to town, and a cousin from ushago had just landed in the city, so you were asked to go pick them up. On your way, you’re caught up in traffic, and guess what? The matatu has free WiFi. What a better time to be alive right?
Few minutes with your earphones on and giggling like a fool, pickpockets come for some shopping. Well, today was not any different. With a few days to Valentines, a hashtag was up and rolling. #ILoveyouBut. Some corporates like Taxify played along with the vibe and even offered a promotion.
#ILoveYouBut but am going to delete my @Taxify_ke account if you don’t respond to my DM today. I have been waiting for a response on a billing issue since 23rd, January 2019. https://t.co/iQrElWEC6A
