Governors from different counties have actively taken up development projects for as part of  addressing the concern of their people.

Kingi revealed that; In Shella ward, the road from Pentagon-Muyeye-Malindi High School to Little Angel and from the Saba Saba junction to Ngala stage has been upgraded to bitumen standard.

In Malindi Town ward, we have upgraded over 7Km of murram roads to Cabro standard including the road from Malindi entry to Kienyeji Joint and Barani Secondary – Winners Chapel – Phamarcy – HGM to Ngala Stage.

Another example is the ongoing construction of a 3.5km Mini by- pass which interconnects Malindi and Sabaki wards from, BP stage towards Makaburini all the way to the Malindi Red Cross linking with the Lamu Highway at Woburn village.

The road will primarily be a diversion for heavy trucks moving towards Lamu and Tana River counties enhancing the free movement of goods and easing traffic flow in Malindi town. In this financial year, we have set aside funds for the recarpeting of the 5Km Malindi seafront road.

Opening up these areas has brought new investments and given the people of Malindi real opportunities with which we believe will contribute immensely to the enhancement of social and economic development.

Roads being one of the infrastructural features that contribute greatly to  economic upgrade and  improving living standards; the government is keen to make sure that  such projects are implemented as it should.

The government should ensure that more road projects  are implemented to ensure that Kenyans have more access to hospitals, schools as well as get easy transportation.
