The newly elected Democratic Republic of Congo President H.E. Felix Tshisekedi is in the country ahead of his scheduled meeting with H.E. President Kenyatta for a bilateral engagement this afternoon.
The DRC President was this morning received by the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Ambassador Monica Juma.
His two day visit to Kenya comes weeks after his inauguration ceremony that brought together dignitaries from different countries.
President Kenyatta and Raila Odinga are among the Kenyan leaders who attended his Inauguration ceremony and sent him a congratulatory message after his big win.
Earlier today, Raila Odinga held a meeting with President Felix Tshisekedi of the DRC who is visiting the country focusing on areas of mutual interest and cooperation with a particular emphasis on the role of infrastructure in development on the continent.
Raila Odinga offered his support to the DRC President as he embarks on the difficult task of putting the DRC on the path of democracy, unity and prosperity.
The Head of State had earlier vowed to work with President Tshisekedi to strengthen and deepen the long-standing cordial relations between Kenya and Congo.
Their meeting will go a long way into boosting the relations between the two countries as they focus on development.
