Rejuvenated Ruto Opens inquest into 200B world bank funding of projects

Since the appointment of New executive by President Uhuru Kenyatta and Interior CS Fred Mataing’i placed at the heart of power, the Deputy President William Ruto has taken another new peculiar task.

The Deputy President has been keenly involved in the initiating and rolling out different high end projects.

For a minute most people thought that he has been demoted by appointment of President Uhuru Kenyatta but in real sense he has been integrated.

Today, DP Ruto held a meeting with Felipe Jaramillo, World Bank Country Director for Eritrea, Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda and governors from northern Kenya, Karen office, Nairobi County.

 

The meeting was aimed to report on the progress of the North and North Eastern Development Initiative (NEDI) programme which is aimed at address marginalisation of ASAL areas.

The World Bank Funded the project with 200B to ensure its full implementation.Priority areas including: education, water, energy, roads and boosting livelihood resilience, through climate-smart agriculture, pastoralism.

DP Ruto insisted on the importance of the project terming it as the key in transforming:

NEDI will improve quality of life and realise shared prosperity for communities in the 10 benefiting counties.”
