The toughest defenders in the world of football maybe absolute softies off the pitch, so Real Madrid star Sergio Ramos have proved with his fatherly love for his kids and amazing affection for partner and former sexiest woman in the world Pilar Rubio.
The former Sevilla star was on Rubio’s Spanish TV programme El Hormiguero and the couple confirmed they would tie the knot on June 15 in Seville.
Ramos joked after revealing the wedding location: “We’ve decided to get married in Seville because we’ve been in Madrid for so long now, it means there’ll be less people.
“It’s going to be a special wedding because we’re special. It’s a very special moment for us after being together for so long and forming such a fantastic family with three little ones who fill our lives with passion.
“We felt it was the ideal moment and we wanted our children to enjoy it because when they were younger it’s not something they would understand so much.”
According to a report in the SunUk, the 32-year-old also revealed they would ask their guests to leave phones and cameras at the door of the still-secret location, so the celebs attending the after-party could enjoy themselves without fear of being filmed or photographed.
The wedding after-party is expected to take place at a private estate just outside Seville with Spanish media speculating the religious ceremony will be at Seville Cathedral. The 40-year-old model partner of Ramos hinted a world-famous singer may join them to perform after they become man and wife.
“There’s going to be something very big but I can’t say what,” She said “I’m as excited about putting on my wedding dress as I am about what’s going to happen afterwards.”
They are dubbed the Posh and Becks of Spain when they started dating in September 2012 and have three sons – Sergio, four, Marcos, three, and Alejandro, who was born last March.
Interestingly, Ramos used to date a former Miss Spain who is now married to Cadiz star Sergio Sanchez but since he met Rubio he has not looked back and he is madly in love with the model to take her down the aisle.
Rubio, who was born near Madrid, was voted the sexiest woman in the world by Spain’s FHM magazine in 2008 and 2009. She made a name for herself as a reporter on a light entertainment show before starting to present some of Spain’s most famous television talent shows.
Ramos entered a relationship with journalist/presenter Pilar Rubio in September 2012. This was confirmed by both at the FIFA Ballon d’Or. They have three sons together: Sergio Jr (born 6 May 2014), Marco (born 27 November 2015) and Alejandro (born 25 March 2018). On 16 July 2018 Ramos proposed to long-term girlfriend Pilar Rubio and the couple got engaged. In January 2019, Amazon Prime and Ramos himself announced they will release a docu-series on Ramos’ life on and off the pitch.
Ramos is a fan of bullfighting, which is popular in his hometown, and he is a personal friend of matador Alejandro Talavante. He celebrated victories for both club and country by playing with a matador’s cape. Ramos is also a keen horse aficionado, owning a stud farm in his native Andalusia specifically dedicated to the breeding of the Andalusian horse. Ramos’ horse, ‘Yecutan SR4’ became a World Champion in 2018. Ramos is Catholic, and has a tattoo of Mary which covers the top half of his left arm.
Ramos is a physically strong player who excels in the air, due to his elevation and heading accuracy, making him a goal threat on set-pieces; he is also a competent, aggressive tackler. He is gifted with pace, good technical ability, as well as good distribution and crossing ability.
