For sometime now, NTSA has been accused of laxity with a section of Kenyans even arguing that it is NTSA that is in fact contributing to the road accidents in the country.

Latest revelations of a number plate syndicate inside the NTSA only fuelled fire at the Transport authority after it emerged that some of it’s officials aided the Dusit D2 attack that claimed 21 innocent lives.

In the midst of all these storm, transport CS James Macharia has now appointed six members to the NTSA board.

The appointees are; John Obwocha, Catherine Waweru, Alice Chesire, Francis  Mwongo, Moses Gachemi and Meshak Kidenda.

In the Monday gazette notice, Macharia said the officials will serve for a period of three years, with effect from February 4, 2019.

On January 21, NTSA was moved to the Interior ministry for easier operations.

President Uhuru Kenyatta issued an executive order on the move saying there is a need to foster greater synergies in the development, coordination, application and enforcement of Road Safety.
