Matiang’i lays down the new frame work for CS Service Delivery

Cabinet secretaries will provide a weekly report to President Uhuru Kenyatta as part of service delivery, Interior PS Karanja Kibicho has said.

“The committee identified challenges constraining effective execution and delivery of services,” Kibicho who is also the chairperson of National Development technical committee said on Tuesday.

He said the CSs will also present its recommendations to the President, highlighting how to address the challenges.

Kibicho said the committee received and appraised implementation plans for the government development projects and programmes.

The meeting attended by all CSs, the Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua and the AG Kihara Kariuki, was chaired by Interior CS Fred Matiang’i.

Cabinet secretaries arrived at Harambee House for their inaugural meeting of the Committee. The CSs started arriving at 7.30am for  the meeting scheduled to begin at 8am.

An Executive Order by the President last month created the National Development Implementation and Communication Cabinet Committee.

Though the agenda of the meeting is not public, insiders in government indicate that the CSs are expected to come up with a work plan to achieve the objectives of the Executive Order.
