Earlier today at City Hall, Governor Sonko held a  meeting with Nairobi City County nurses led by their union officials.

The Governor’s administration reached a deal with the health workers over their long-standing grievances.

He also shared that he was  delighted that the nurses have agreed to ensure health services are uninterrupted in the Nairobi county health facilities.

This meet up with the nurses comes amid the ongoing the nurse strike that has affected some parts of the country.

The Daily Nation reports that Patients in various public hospitals in Kisumu and Kisii counties continued to suffer as nurses’ strike entered its second day on Tuesday.

Public hospitals in Kisumu were deserted after nurses vowed to press on with their boycott until their demands are met.

At the Kisumu Sub-County Hospital, doctors discharged patients due to lack of nurses to attend to them.
