The National Government has allocated a 660 million Kenyan Shillings to regenerate top two sites to world class standards & attract more tourists to Mombasa and the coast region.

These are two sites in Mombasa (Jomo Kenyatta Public Beach and Mama Ngina Waterfront Park, which are named after the First President and his wife respectively.” that with no doubt receive hundreds of thousands of local and international tourists every year.

The planned  development of Mama Ngina drive into a modern waterfront with a boardwalk and other recreation facilities  is one of the most anticipated by the Mombasa residents having that it is one of the places that people go to, to spend their leisure time.

The regeneration will be undertaken by  Kenya wildlife service in conjunction with the County Government of Mombasa.

Mama Ngina Waterfront Park, has benefited from 460 million and it holds the rich history of Mombasa town that dates back to the 15th century.

For Mombasa County, the Mama Ngina water park  means revamping the tourism sector as well as one of the ways to create jobs entrepreneurship opportunities  as well as give locals and tourists a perfect scenery.

Among the features the project aims to establish are leisure walks, souvenir shopping, entertainment, sporting and other leisure activities, foods and beverages, and relaxation areas.
