Babu Owino supports the Muslim Community over supreme court ruling on Hijabs

Embakasi East Mp Babu Owino has addressed the court judgement in regard to Muslim ladies putting on hijab in high school.

Babu Owino insists that the decision issued is inconsistent and repugnant to the national laws and justice.

In the constitutional article 32 is enshrined under the bill of rights that everyone has the freedom to worship.

The Member of Parliament believes that every religion has its code of dressing and this is a way of them communicating with their creator.

Babu Owino  said that there should be no interference whatsoever in the code of dressing of any religious person in the nation.

He also shared his belief that the decision made goes against the wish of the Muslim community.

The Supreme Court ruling came after a case of a Methodist School where Muslim students were reported to have been limited from wearing Hijabs in accordance to the school policy.

The Supreme Court made it clear  that every school has a right to determine uniform policy, a ruling that did not go down well with a section of leaders.

The Muslim community was also up in the arms with some not clearly having an understanding of the ruling and thought that the ban was to be effective in all schools.

Babu Owino in a video shared today on his Instagram page made it clear that his remarks are in support of the Muslim community
