Man United Make Shock Decision Over Marouane Fellaini

The Belgian midfielder has been injured recently but there is a feeling that he does not fit into this new-look United team.

Fellaini was an important player under Jose Mourinho, who forced the board into giving him a two-year deal last season.

The Old Trafford outfit are paying Fellaini £180,000-a-week as a result despite being deemed surplus to requirements.

However, the ex-Everton midfielder had repaid the Portuguese manager with some vital goals over his ultimately doomed tenure.

But under Solskjaer, the 31-year-old does not fit into his plans.

The likes of Ander Herrera, Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic are the Norweigan’s first choices and an unnamed Chinese club has offered to take Fellaini.

But with United desperate to get rid, they have dropped their asking price to £10m – according to the Metro.

As a result of his astronomical wages, the Red Devils have ran into trouble when it comes to transfers.

United are planning a big summer to accompany the new manager’s arrival, with Kalidou Koulibaly set to be their top target.

But the club need to offload a number of deadwood players, with Fellaini falling into that category.

As well as the Belgium international, Antonio Valencia, Phil Jones and Matteo Darmian are also likely to be shown the exit door.

With the Chinese transfer window ending on February 28, there is time if Fellaini opts to move to the far-east.

The 6”4 star will not be the first Belgian player to go to the Chinese Super League.

Yannick Carrasco, Axel Wiesel and, most recently, Mousa Dembele have all made transfer to China.

United are now two points behind Arsenal after their 2-2 draw with Burnley last night.

The Red Devils travel to Leicester next on February 3.
