Wolves are in the hunt to sign Tottenham forward Vincent Janssen, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper claimed via their live transfer blog on Tuesday [09:42am] that Burnley are also interested in the 24-year-old while Real Betis have made an enquiry about his availability.

It is understood that Spurs want to sell Janssen before the transfer deadline passes on Thursday and they are said to want £12million for the Netherlands international.

Janssen has had a torrid time in North London and him leaving Tottenham would be the best move for all parties, and Wolves fans should be happy with the idea of potentially signing him.

The ex-Twente striker has scored six goals in 39 appearances across all competitions for Spurs, but has not played once for them since August 2017 after spending last season on loan at Fenerbahce and being sidelined this term with a serious foot injury.

Janssen definitely deserves another chance to shine in the Premier League and he would be a very good back-up option for Raul Jimenez at Molineux.

Wolves could probably whittle down that £12million price-tag to a more realistic fee and then Nuno Espirito Santo will be getting himself a very capable centre-forward.

Janssen has been proving his fitness by playing – and scoring – for Spurs’ Under-23s in recent weeks, so there is bound to be plenty of interest in him before the deadline passes later this week.

He doesn’t seem like the kind of player that Wolves would sign with them mainly being linked with either players from Portugal or young English players, such as Tammy Abraham.

Janssen is a good striker and is only 24-years-old, but it’s just hard to see him in a Wolves shirt.
