Manchester United’s star man David De Gea has admitted it will be ‘difficult’ for the club to finish in the top four, despite their incredible run of form that has seen them record eight successive victories in all competitions.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has turned the club around and now Manchester United are looking up the Premier League table, having closed the gap on the top four. An impressive win away at Arsenal also took United through to the to the fifth round of the FA Cup as OGS looks to drag the club to a trophy this season.

Despite the success, De Gea told Sky Sports:

“We’re happy with the wins but we aren’t satisfied with the overall situation. This is a club that should be fighting for the title.

“We want to get back into the Champions League places, which will be a difficult objective, but we have managed to reduce the points deficit quite a bit.”

United return to action on Tuesday night as they host Burnley in the Premier League.

A win could see them finally go up to fifth and level on points with the top four. But De Gea again was keen to stress it would not be an easy game:

“They’re on a good run of results but we’re playing at home, and we’re also on a good run of form, so we’re fully confident of winning all three points.

“They are dangerous and we know the kind of style they will use against us. They like to put you under pressure with long balls, and they’re very dangerous at set-pieces.”
