Moses Kuria disowned for his slayboy social media post

A day after he hinted on that he has decamped to the Democratic Party, the party leadership has come out to disown Gatundu South lawmaker Moses Kuria.

Kuria on Friday used his social media to indicate that he has joined the party, but it now emerges that he is yet to officiate his move and get the party members.

According to the party Secretary Jacob Haji, the vocal lawmaker is not yet a member if the party and has not even reached out to the party over the issue.

Haji urged Kenyans to avoid rumours about the same making rounds on social media.

“We have seen a lot of comments on this report on social media platforms and we are concerned because as a party we are not aware.

The MP has neither written to the party nor has he defected to join our party. The public must ignore these reports,” he is quoted by the Nation.

However, Haji said that Kuria and any other Kenyan is welcome to join the party, but only through legal means as per the party constitution.

“Everybody is welcome to join our party, but through the procedure provided for in our party constitution. There is a way of joining our party which is not through social media posts,” he said.

On Friday, Kuria added that the entire Central Kenya leadership might land in the party founded by former President Mwai Kibaki.

“To all my detractors out there, let us meet at the grassroots. DP is the party of the region. We leave the others to (Nominated MP Maina) Kamanda,” said Kuria.
