An airplane has crashed in Machakos, a few minutes after take off.The Cessna 152 II belonging to the Flight Training Centre crashed in a forest a few minutes after it had taken off from Kindaruma airstrip in Masinga.
According to Masinga OCPD Francis Siror who confirmed the incident, two trainee pilots from the Flight Training Center Nairobi who were on board the aircraft escaped unhurt.
However , the Flight Training Centre and those from the Aviation Authority are expected to visit the site of the crash to establish the cause of the crash.
In the meantime, the owners of the plane- Flight Training Centre and officials of Aviation Authority are expected to visit the site of the plane crash.
This is not the first time an airplane crushed ,sometimes back an aviation student crash-landed a light aircraft at the Nairobi National Park.
He was alone in the aircraft when he took off from Wilson Airport but crash landed within the national park, few minutes later due to engine failure.
The plane of registration 5Y-JUX was badly damaged in the incident. Rescuers rushed to the scene and saved the trainee pilot before taking him to hospital where he was attended to after the incident.
Another trainee pilot narrowly escaped death after a light aircraft he was flying crashed near Malindi airport .
The plane crashed on the roof of a house at Furunzi, a few metres from the runway. The pilot was alone.
The pilot was rushed to Malindi hospital in critical condition before being transferred to Mombasa for specialised treatment .
