A blow was received by muslims yeterday when the supreme court overturned a 2016 court of Appeal ruling that allowed muslims to wear hijab in non muslim schools.
The head scarf worn by muslims to cover their hair and some parts of of their face is a code of their relligion.
This petition which has been termed cruel was filed by the Methodist Church of Kenya lading to the supreme court declaring that everyschool has the right to determine his dresscode.
Not only has the Methodist Church received an online backlash but the Judiciary as well. For instance many have questioned why Willy Mutunga was allowed to wear earings due to his belief yet a muslim is being denied the right to do so.
@dkmaraga Cannot attend court on Saturday due to his faith, @WMutunga Wore an earing to court due to his belief yet a muslim girl cannot attend a christian school with a #hijab have a thoughtful Friday.

In a country where the president will gazets Indians as a 44th tribe in Kenya due to elections. The Akorinos more recognised by being allowed to wear their headgear, the Sikhs allowed to wear their headgear, the hijab has been rejected. So sad. #hijab

SUPREME COURT DOUBLE STANDARD?
On March 4, 2017, a three-bench judges ruled that there will be no classes on Saturday for Seventh Day Adventist (SDA)students.
The same Court overturned Court of Appeal ruling allowing Muslim students to wear #Hijab in school. @CJMaraga_ @KTNKenya— Ibrahim Ahmed (@Ibrahimprofesa) January 25, 2019
Some threatened a protest during the approaching world Hijab day.
Misogynists will celebrate ‘World Hijab Day’ on Feb 1. Men and women who believe in women’s equal rights should protest against the celebration of Hijab which is a symbol of oppression, suppression, denigration & humiliation of women
We are against #Hijab this bound a woman and make her oppressed.#womenempowerment is when a woman is free from everything and can do whatever she wants.#HijabDay #Iranian #iran #MuslimWomen #WomensRights https://t.co/TA1XOlJ0gM
