The Supreme Court in Kenya has overturned a decision by a lower court requiring schools to allow Muslim students to wear hijabs.
The judges ruled that every school has a right to determine its rules.
The church, which sponsors St. Paul’s Kiwanjani Secondary School in Isiolo, appealed against the Court of Appeal decision.
A parent had complained about the suspension but the High Court sided with the school.Kenyans took to social media with different opinions regarding the court ruling.
This comes days after Olympic High School in Nairobi sent a girl home and ordered her to report back only after shaving off the dreadlocks, considered part of the Rastafarian religion.
The student was however allowed back with the intervention of Education CS Amina Mohamed who said the Rastafarian girl should be allowed to return to school without having to cut her dreadlocks.
Here is the reaction:
Students to wear SCHOOL UNIFORM. “School Uniform” lose its meaning if there is no uniformity. Kwa hayo machache take your kid to where there is uniformity.

You sound more of a pharisee than a Christian. Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom. The gentleman is right, the beauty of Christianity is liberty beyond legalism you seek to introduce

Ironically a church appealed on that decision, something that purely touches on Islamic faith. Then soon they will be out here preaching about tolerance!!!
