Untill long time ago a socialite was a person charaterised by wealth from a previleged back ground that played prominent role in high society. A socialite spent a significant amount of time attending various fashionable sociable gatherings.
Most of the earliest socialites were wives or mistresses of royalty or nobility, but being a socialite was more a duty and a means of survival than a form of pleasure.
However today’s socialites are painting a very different picture.Wealth is still involved but more on the side pleasure.This has pushed many social media declared socialites to engage in controversial lifestyles for wealth connections.
Currently Tanzania’s beauty queen Hamissa Mobeto is trending for all the wrong reasons that remind us of her evil past with singer Diamond who she snatched from Ugandan socialite Zari then married to DiamonPlatinumz.
In anew drama, Zambian woman identified as Tahiya posted the mother-of-two’s picture on her Instagram page, and captioned the image: “Hamisa Mobetto, leave other women’s men alone.”
After a while, Tahiya posted to the social media page screenshots of her alleged WhatsApp conversations with Mobetto, in which she was pleading with the video vixen to leave her man alone.
Their conversation, however, took an ugly turn, when they began hurling insults at each other, with each of them expressing confidence in her ability to keep the man, who was being fought over.
Tanzania’s “Risasi Mchanganyiko” reached Mobetto for comment
“What do you want me to tell you? What you saw [playing out on social media] is everything you should know. If anything, I am not a kid! I fully know what I am doing. I did not snatch another woman’s man. He approached me by himself. I love him. So, what do you want me to do?” she posed and, thereafter, ended the phone call.
