Anne Waiguru Opens Her Doors to Colleagues For the First Time

News that Kirinyaga County is apparently set to host the sixth Devolution Conference has not only been welcomed by the locals but also by the County administration led by Governor Anne Waiguru.

Waiguru has confirmed that Kirinyaga is ready to host a successful conference come March 3rd.

With at least 6000 guests expected, Waiguru has confirmed that she is working round the clock to provide the best accommodation there is to the guests.

This years Devolution conference will be held at Kirinyaga university grounds in Kutus.

”We have brought on board even small hotel operators so they can serve our guests, we have also improved the infrastructure,” Waiguru said.

“Our guests will enjoy their time here in Kirinyaga during their visit and they will surely come back later because our county is a well-known tourist region that guests will want to explore” she added.

The Governor spoke on Wednesday at Gitwe Primary where she donated 700 shoes to pupils as part of her campaigns pledge.


The county boss said her government is committed to improving development in all sectors even after the conference.

Meanwhile, Council of Governors vice chairman Mwangi Wairia said the event at Kirinyaga University will build on last year’s conference in Kakamega.

“We expect the delegates to network and exploit opportunities that can positively change the lives of our people,” Wairia said.

He spoke on Monday at CoG headquarters in Nairobi at a resource mobilisation subcommittee for the 6th annual Devolution Conference.
