Meet the Man United target preferring Red Devils over Tottenham

Manchester United are interested in signing Dutch international Steven Bergwijn from PSV Eindhoven, according to reports.

The 21-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford this month before further reports suggested that Tottenham Hotspur have joined the race for the winger’s signature.

Bergwijn is having an excellent season in the Netherlands where he has scored nine goals and recorded eight assists in his 17 Eredivisie appearances for the defending champions and current league leaders.

It was even reported that we sent scouts to watch the youngster in action during PSV Eindhoven’s 2-2 draw at FC Emmen over the weekend.

Although there are no suggestions that we are going to make a move for him this month, the Manchester Evening News are reporting that Steven Bergwijn would prefer a move to Manchester United over Tottenham Hotspur.

This is excellent news given that it is Spurs who currently occupy a Champions League spot in the Premier League, whilst Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has cut the gap between the top four an ourselves down to four points in recent weeks.

Bergwijn is equally adept at playing on both the right wing as he is the right. He is pacey with an eye for goal and good at creating chances for teammates. He would give us a different option down our right flank where Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard have shared the duties this season.
